Conquering the Camera workshop was a huge success this weekend. We cranked out Camera Mechanics (ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed and how they work together) in the morning. Then in the afternoon in the Creative Concepts camera course we put it all together. We learned about how light metering is controlled for correct exposure and how to monitor the histogram on our cameras as we take photographs. We observed lighting and angles using moi as the main subject to get a feel for how to photograph a person successfully.
Amy, Jo, Reg and Samantha, you rocked it! Reg, make sure you send me some images so I can post them here, we’d love to see what you created.
All images here (except for my iphone pictures) are taken straight from the camera and put here for you to see…absolutely no post production has been applied.
So there you go – you can get your camera onto full manual mode and conquer it!
Well done everybody – you absorbed a lot of information in one day, but the results certainly show.
These are some of Amy’s lovely creations.
My iphone addiction continues…everybody is concentrating hard!
Reg was busy with the cups and glasses as we discussed ISO, aperture and shutter speed.
Then outside he tested his light metering skills on me.
Jo worked her magic with the grasses.
I didn’t realise I spoke with my hands quite this much!
Ha ha! But very well captured!
Some of Samantha’s ideas in the morning experimenting with depth of field.
This is the last scheduling of workshops in Canberra for at least six months.
If you live in Berlin and will be there for the summer 2011, stay tuned for updates on scheduling and I’ll see you there!
