Michael Hanrahan loves books. He helps business authors to self-publish their books.
Now that Michael has written his own book called Stand Out, business is bursting at the seams.
Profile builds, and the moment comes when Michael says he needs a few pictures of himself and his business partner Anna for their website, social media, profile – the usual haunts.
Their website showed pictures of their pets with a little mini-story on each, which most people don’t tend to do. #curious
We decided on clothing and covered off that maybe the pets would be photographed. #we’llsee
Anna and Michael are also life partners, which means they work together, and from home.
They see their clients there, they have a room they are filling gradually with books that they call ‘the library’.
Shooting at their home seemed like the perfect fit.
When I arrived, I was greeted by a black, wet nose and wagging tail at the door.
Archie made himself known very quickly and I was instantly besotted.
Michael and Anna didn’t quite realise the natural magic they were sitting on with Archie the boss and Lik the cat.
It’s well understood that customers buy on emotion (pathos is building…).
I could see the possibilities of weaving in and out, through and around all these different elements – that in combination would tell their complete brand story.
A day doesn’t go by without these pets playing a support act behind the scenes.
We made sure that the expected portraits were covered off, which you can see throughout this sequence.
But can you also see their bigger picture? This wonderful tale unfolds about Michael’s passion for books, he’s just published his own book and how their pets are very present in their day to day activities.
What’s the bigger picture in your business?
People LOVE video because it’s a sight and sound experience that entertains at the click of a button.
In a short space of time the following ideas can be covered off:
- Who you are
- What you’re known for
- How you do it
- Explains your big game (your why/your purpose)
- Invites your audience to join you
- Includes a website to visit to find out more
Worth a thought.
Here are Michael’s:
“We’d seen some of Beth’s photography and were keen to work with her.
The photo session was much more involved than I expected. Beth really made me think about our business, our brand, and how we wanted the company to be represented in the images. And the results were fantastic.
Beth really told our story, and the photos perfectly reflect the image we want to project to our clients.
We couldn’t be happier with how the session went and the photos.”
