I distinctly remember Richard approaching me one day at a networking event.
I want to get some photos done for my business. He said.
Sure, you mean like, portraits? I asked.
Well…maybe something a little more creative than that. He said.
Scratch a little bit beneath the surface with Richard Jones and you will find someone who is sooooo expressive, creative and imaginative.
There’s this really delicate balance with Richard that’s constantly at play.
On the one hand here he is coaching high level executives (usually in corporate) – so the way he presents himself is very polished in both his spoken word and manner, and what he wears too. In turn, they need to be presenting themselves in that way too – polished and professional.
And then on the other hand his effectiveness in helping them create dynamic, memorable presentations is in his unorthodox methods to draw out their unique angles and help them put all that gold into their presentations.
Richard weaves all this creativity, passion for magic and innovation into his methodology.
You wouldn’t necessarily think they’d go together!
But somehow, they actually do. You know, he might have this kind of mad scientist thing going on, but at the end of the day, it’s that exact kind of crazy that gets results.
So it seemed appropriate to somehow draw out this inspired inner world of Richard and show that in photos.
So we captured – that.
You tell me, from watching the video, are you clear about who Richard is, what he does, and why?
Is it believable? Would you engage Richard to help you deliver a killer presentation with flair and personality?
It’s important that Richard feels proud of the pictures and that he can confidently use them to present himself to the world. He dropped this into Facebook one day when I added the video to my biz page:
‘Beth is brilliant at knowing what to do to “capture you” in photos! Loved it. Absolutely stoked with the final product & the expression of the “Rich Presenter” brand.’
There’s that ‘brand’ word.
It means a combination of what you do (your product), and why you do it (your passion). If someone were to sum you up in a tweet, what would they say? That’s your brand. A combo of facts and feelings.
Richard, thanks so much for our collaboration.
Your website is looking ah-mazing!!!
The brief to photograph Richard outside the ‘corporate norm’ was both a challenge and exhilarating. That’s what I live for.
It boiled down to figuring out his unique blend of herbs and spices, and then heading off into the Melbourne CBD to capture that in action.
Sometimes it’s hard to imagine what your story could be. Maybe we need to have a chat and see what’s possible.
