Hobart! Ohmigod! What a great city!
I had such a great week and very a productive time. I photographed an extended family which included, mum, dad, two kids, an aunt, a grandmother and a grandfather. A wonderful Family Story instalment for them, particularly as one of the attendees was 91 years old. On another shoot I photographed two lovely ladies together, (old friends of 20 years) and they each have two children. So then we had the two mums and four kids jumping around together.
Prior to the photo sessions one of the mums contacted me and raised her concerns about her family’s privacy. We agreed to go ahead with the sessions on the condition that I show discretion with regards to which images I use from the sessions for my blog. She was not comfortable to know that her children’s images may be in posted in this public forum, where she had no control over who saw them. I was really pleased that she approached me and reassured her that she isn’t the first and probably won’t be the last to have those concerns.
Of course, this created a challenge for me, as I get rather excited about my images and love to post them on my blog. But, on the other hand, I care more about taking the photographs than I do about blogging, so I was happy to compromise. And I’m so glad I did. Everybody was very pleased with the images, two of which are here for you to see.
