As a final note on NYC…I photographed this lovely family Ingrid, Gary and Anneliese in Port Washington, which is on Long Island, 30 mins north by train from Manhattan.
Gloriously green, this part of the world is a tad pretty…seriously beautiful homes and gardens there. We went to an historic property called Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, Long Island, that has retained its original heritage, (ie, it was not divided up and sold off to build housing) and so the grounds are available for people to visit. The original 65 room mansion is still there as well.
Gary and Ingrid chose to live in this part of the world simply for its tranquility, and yet it is still so close to NYC. The commute is easy and the landscape changes quickly as you head out of the city.
Loved every minute of it, Gary and Ingrid, thank you so much for being willing to try the portrait process with me, I don’t know about you, but it sure turned out well beyond my expectations.
